2024 Galeria Valentes – Hamburg
The exhibition “Biological Art” presents the fascinating biological structures created by the Brazilian artist, who graduated in biology with a specialization in molecular genetics. Her works derive from anatomical structures that reveal the complexity and intrinsic beauty of living organisms. Through painting, modeling and material recycling techniques, the works reveal microscopic elements in impactful visual expressions. Whole organisms and ecosystems are represented in surrealist style.
Her art invites the public to explore the patterns of living organisms little explored by society. Each piece on display is an invitation to contemplate the invisible, highlighting the harmony and intricate architecture of nature. This exhibition celebrates the beauty of architectural patterns and biodiversity, offering a new perspective on the natural world.

Is the life of fungi separated from ours? Not at all. Fungi are everywhere, around us, on our skin, inside our bodies, in the soil we tread on and the air we breathe. Most people associate fungi with the interesting mushroom their see on a forest walk or the delicious food they eat. But, fungi are much more than that. They play crucial roles in nature as mutualistic symbiotic partners with plants, nutrient recyclers, and decomposers. Additionally, some fungi act as pathogens, while others are used for food production and pest control. The exposition “Fungi and the others” shows abstractions of some situations where fungi interact with its environment and other organisms.

The fascination with fungi, the third great kingdom of living organisms on our earth, is becoming ever greater. These organisms are not only diverse and useful, but also beautiful. While mushrooms are. observed, researched, admired and collected in the forests, the consideration of medicinally relevantfungi are more technical nature, mostly in diagnostic laboratories.
The awareness and significance of fungal infections in humans have become increasingly important in recent years due to the persistent work of specialists. Advances in fungal diagnosis and treatment lead to improvements in patient’s quality of life and can be life-saving. But the fungal species of medical mycology can also be the starting point for creative and imaginative art projects.
The exhibition “Art Meets Medical Mycology” has the goal to present the complexity of medically relevant fungi in the form of paintings and art objects. The exhibition aims to raise awareness of the subject, generate new interest and encourage the recruitment of young professionals into medical mycology. The 57th Annual Scientific Meeting of the German-speaking Mycological Society (DMykG) is an excellent occasion for this exhibition.

Ovarian Cancer is a devastating disease and responsible for the death of many thousand woman every year. Late diagnosis and a lack of awareness contribute for the limited success of treatment and the low rate of cure of this disease. Every year, on May 8th, worldwide campaigns are made to support the ovarian cancer community. To help raising disease awareness, I had the opportunity to produce 4 mini pictures representing the complexity of ovarian cancer and the suffering of patients. They were published in the World Ovarian Cancer Coalition webpage (LinkedIn and X) on Mai 2021.
